Typical every day electrical products such as hairdryers and hair straighteners should be taken care of. And by this we mean switched off at the mains and preferably even removed by the plug. The location of electrical items in your home is just as important, and this is usually the reason for accidental damages like fires.

Electrical products should obviously be kept away from water, but there are many or rules one should follow. Every item you purchase, you should check the pins, and make sure the mains plug is not damages.

Make sure the voltage is not too high, typical voltage is 230V, 50Hz, so anything drastically over this should be carefully considered with expert advice. There should never be any exposed wires, and checking the casing is just as important. Make sure you are safety proofing your home and be cautious with your electrical products.
